Laptop Power Issue

First off, check out my prior thread for a more detailed run down of my intial problems.

Basically, I couldn't use usb mice while playing games. I've since narrowed the problem down to being an issue of power. With the laptop plugged in, playing any game with a mouse plugged into any of the 3 usb ports causes a hard lock up, requiring a reboot.

Using the laptop on battery power let's me use any mouse as per usual.

My laptop's specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000 running at 2.0ghz
4 Gigs of ram
Nvidia GTX 260M 1 GB

All running on windows vista with SP2 installed.

In general the thing runs pretty warm, and the power brick itself gets REALLY hot, especially when playing games. My guess is that the power brick might be under-powered for the machine, and when the usb mouse pulls extra juice from the computer while playing an already resource intensive game it just can't handle it.

Is it possible to buy a slightly beefier power brick, or is that kind of risky?
