ISScript outdated error, even after update!

So I'm trying to install iTunes on old machine that my parents have so it can work with their iPods but I'm getting that annoying error "Update ISScript.msi"

No problem, google'd the problem, downloaded updated version of InstallShield. Restarted the computer and it's still having the same problem. Can't install the most recent version at all. I tried an older version of iTunes and no go.

Very frustrating. Anyone have any advice?

Alternately, anyone suggest a replacement for it? From searching the forums, it appears Anapod's popular but it's also $25 pop for it. It just needs to be able to pop CDs to an iPod and manage music library.

I'd really like to get iTunes working, since it's so easy. Folks aren't exactly tech savvy and I don't want to field tech support calls every day. :P
