    First of all: people start threads here about bullshit deaths of nobodys. "Wah wah wah, my best friend's sister died of cancer." "Boo fucking hoo my mom was muredered last night and the killer sliced off my feet." Pansies. Suck it up.

    But Momofuku... this man was like unto a small god. He created something I can damned near guarantee EVERYONE here has eaten. He didn't have to do it. In fact, he was doing pretty well with the whole Post WWII Japan Starvation Thing. But rather than settle down in his comfortable, not-enough-food-having life, he altruistically dedicated his life to inventing a food source that would make him millions of dollars.

    I don't expect a cro-magnon like you to understand.

    There's a flip market a short drive from campus that I should check out. They have some decent stuff.

    i'm pointing out that while in this instance, yes, the creator of instant noodles is, for me personally, close to the FSM Himself in holiness, some others might not share that opinion. even then, you can go ahead and post this thread because, hey, he was someone who you felt was important who kicked the bucket.

    I don't know because I've never heard anyone call someone that, but given that you guys go nuts over "Jap" (which I've always used because, y'know, it's like "Brit" as far as I'm concerned) isn't "flip" in the same category?

    I'm half-Jap and I've always found the people who get retarded-offended over the term completely odd. I very, very rarely use the term Japanese when descibing my heritage. Jap is much easier. I also don't know ANYONE with a Jap heritage who gets offended by it either. The only people who seem to take issue are, well, round-eyes.
