Treadmill: weird feeling

I got a treadmill so I can run in winter. I use it about 5-6 times a week for about 2 months now. Every time, I get a really weird feeling after I'm done.

It's feel like I'm still moving and kind of a sea sick motion sickness afterwards. Anyone else have this problem? What causes it? Anything I can do to minimize it?

Yes--I think everyone gets it to some extent. You've been running forward but not actually moving for 30-45 minutes. It takes a few minutes to recalibrate your inner ear when you finish. I've found that slowing to walking speed and walking for about five minutes, which you should be doing anyway, helps to alleviate the sensation.

I get a similar feeling if I have worked out too hard or haven't drunk enough water before and during the workout. Now I try and drink at least a couple of glasses of water about half an hour before I go to the gym and sip water during workout, and I don't get that weird floaty feeling as often.

Yeah happens to me whenever I use stationary equipment like treadmills or bikes. Just take it slow for a few minutes before you actually jump off. That helps me a bit.

Good idea, I'll try walking more at the end of my run to see if that helps. I guess I'll also try walking around the house afterwards too to see if that helps.
