How do you level up in Icewind Dale II? (SOLVED)

Now, I know this is stupid, but I cannot figure out how to level up my party in Icewind Dale II. I pause, look at the character screens, etc, and there doesn't seem to be anything to click. There are the little golden pluses on half my party now and I can't figure it out.

If you're in the character screen, there should be an option that says "level up." From what you're describing, it sounds like the option is grayed out or something.

Try clicking on the little plus itself? Maybe make sure you're out of combat, try resting, etc.

It's been a while, but I don't remember it being an issue. I think you might be experiencing a bug.

I must not actually be in what I thought was the character screen, because I've never seen that.

Got it, had to patch it to 2.01, can be locked!
