UK based Ring Sellers?

I want to get the girlfriend a ring for Valentines day. She has told me in the past that she likes Claddagh Rings and has given me a couple of examples that she likes (Eg1, Eg2). I have a ring size for her, but we aren't entirely sure how accurate it is so I will attempt to try to get her to get re-sized as subtly as possible.

My main issue is that I have almost no idea of where to start looking. This isn't an engagement ring or anything, so I'm not looking to spend proper high-end jewellers money, and I don't really want to just use any random website I can google. If it turns out that I can't do this for a reasonable amount of money etc, I may just have to abandon the idea, but I'd just like to do something special if I can.

So does anybody know of some trustworthy, UK-based places / websites I can buy rings from?
Any other advice would be appreciated of course.

Will give head for decent sig+avatar.

Most High Street jewellers will sell Claddagh rings.

When/if you ever want a special ring, David Robinson is an excellent jeweller - they design on site, will make your own design, and can make rings to fit anyone. They made my engagement and wedding rings, and my re-wedding ring (25th anniversary, using the diamond from my original engagement ring with some others), and I have 3 webbed fingers on my left hand - they made the rings fit over all 23, can't praise them enough!

Interesting. I was under the impression that they were a lot rarer / more specialized than that. I'll have to take a look. I'm still open to more suggestions though, I don't exactly live in a sprawling metropolitan utopia, so I may have to wait till I'm in a city for some decent choice.

And I'll make a note of David Robinson for future reference, but I'm going to go ahead and guess that a site like that which suspiciously doesn't include prices is more of a "Money no object" place than a "Student wants to give his girlfriend a nice shiney thing". :P

Well, I know that's what they look like, but they will make within your budget - my new ring (Lewie has a photo in a Christmas thread on PA, but I can't find it) cost £700, but my original engagement ring cost £100, granted a long time ago!

http://www.hsamuel.co.uk/ is a pretty common high-street type jewellers. Also not a complete rip off on jewellery most of the time, surprisingly.
I'd hate to say Argos as well, but..you know. Argos do some stuff?

I had thought Argos, it's not like this is an engagement ring or anything. I was just hoping for a hidden goldmine of places between Argos and "Scary looking fancy jewellers".

Looks like I may just have to man up and investigate some of the less intimidating ones. Now that I think about it, staff in those places almost certainly work on commission or something, so they're probably willing to bend over backwards to help you, even on my pitiful budget. :)

H Samuel is part of the same chain as Ernest Jones and Lesley Davis. Interestingly the overpriced stuff is more likely to be in those two than H Samuel.
