Solve this Cryptogram!

My lack of sleep and inability to decipher this cryptogram are in sync. Help me out?

    Is this supposed to be an understandable phrase, or is the message, even deciphered, in some sort of code?

    IE: "Call me when you've figured this out" as opposed to "The gilded eagle caws at midnight"

    But the only single letter words I can think of that would end with "aining" would be raining, or gaining, and neither of those seem to work within the context of the rest of the cryptogram.

    We're going to need some sort of context. I ran it through a couple of solvers and none of them made any sense, mainly because of the hyphen.

    Context = I often write in a rather simplistic cryptogram on my twitter, easily solved with five minutes work. I made a remark on there a few days ago about regretting the gradual loss of my friendship with someone, and this was a friend's reply. It is not in the same code I write in, nor in any logical order that I can find.

    s = i

    five die i fishy-ice dispspy you woman alien

    s = a

    bald wad a bakes-and wakikis sum hurty toady

    EDIT: I agree with Sir Carcass, it seems really likely

    I also played around with s = u but couldn't really get much beyond "hugs" as the first word and "ups" after the hyphen.

    well, it's definitely more complicated than a simple substitution

    is it possible he tried to send something back to you using your cypher but messed it up? sort of weird to see that many of the series for s=i resolve into actual words

    Solver results in:

    Of course solvers are probably bad at coming up with logical sentences but it can't even make an english word out of every set of letters. That long one in the middle seems to be particularly nonsensical.
