EDIT: don't want to get anyone's hopes up inappropriately, but here's a direct quote from one of the article's screenshot captions:
NBA Jam for XBLA or PSN?

EA says that the game's currently only for the Wii, but that it's "exploring options" for other systems due to the high number of requests.

Nice. I waited this long, I can wait for the XBLA version.

Ya, they really meant 'exploring options for charging 50$ on the other consoles as well'.

I like lots of fun things! Motion controls however, are not fun.

And are they really here to stay? We'll see, but after Natal and Move fail, I kind of doubt it.

Well as a business they should realize there's a huge market of people who WOULD pay 50 bucks for this and be able to play online with their friends and not flail around while doing it.

That was a little huffy when I was only referring to the fact that PSN/XBLA titles are not generally 50 bones.

But ya, glad to see you're getting all fanboyish up in this thread.

Yea, I didn't understand that comment either. :?

As far as on XBLA and PSN, if they did move them there too (they should) I would probably buy it on the Wii and my 360, mostly for the different friends I have on each I would want to play this with.

As far as price and such, yes it is a boxed product for the Wii, which I'm ok with, as I still prefer my physical copies to digital. I do hope that it won't be a full 50 bucks though, but if it was forty I would be more than ok with supporting this game at forty bucks.

Heck, even if it turns out to be fifty, I'll still buy it...just begrudgingly. :P

Edit: mrt144, no need to get that hostile or offensive just because he has a different opinion than you. We should all be able to like/dislike different things without insults.

Motion controls are fun and the fact the Wii has sold as well as it has on the entire basis of it using motion control seens to indicate that people find the concept and implimentation of motion controls fun. But I won't let that get in the way of you thinking that the only way to enjoy games is through your thumbs and a giant beanbag chair and a 2 liter of Code Red.

This Right Here! Also, mimicing fadeaway 3's for the game win.

The IGN preview states that the motion controls will be an option next to traditional controls, so this whole goose feather ruffling over motion controls seems pointless.

The time that motion control becomes an issue in sports games is when you're playing ridiculous 60 minute games in Madden and your arm hurts cause you're the Colts and goddamnit, Peyton Manning is going to make 50 pass attempts this game. And then the motion control is wonky on top of it so you wind up adopting a throwing motion that works but isn't really comfortable.

Yea, this is why I do think they need to bring it to PSN/XBLA. I don't online play much, as most of the people I play games with come over for dinner and games and such with my wife and I.

My wife and I throw quite a few 'play X game' party nights...so local play is much more important to me than online.

Syphonblue is actually like 6 foot 145, or something like that. Kinda disturbingly skinny.

I can't wait for this to be on Xbla, it'll be fun. I don't really like motion with sports or FPS, so I wouldn't get it on a Wii if I had one.

The time that motion control becomes an issue in sports games is when you're playing ridiculous 60 minute games in Madden and your arm hurts cause you're the Colts and goddamnit, Peyton Manning is going to make 50 pass attempts this game. And then the motion control is wonky on top of it.

This is basically what I do

I think I've probably put in at least 600-800 games in the College Hoops series since CH2k5, probably played 10-15 seasons of NCAA / Madden in the last two years with online dynasties

I do too but the initial 3-4 games of Madden 09 were horrible cause I played it for 7-8 hours straight. Why didn't i listen to the Wii advice about taking a break?
