So...I got one of these bad boys for 100 bucks or so at Target. It was just too enticing. It is ~1400 pieces of Lego badassity. It looks to be about 2 ft long and 10-12 inches high. Not only is it a sweet ship, but you can open it up and it is like a playset.
Construction took about 10-11 hours. You need a solid surface. A desk is ideal. I tried to build on carpet for a while, but it makes it tougher.
I took pictures at each major stage of construction, here they are...
So...has anyone built the Lego Death Star II? I find it intriguing...
god damn it why you gotta steal my heart like this dyna
It took so long. I went when I dropped bags of Lego pieces onto my desk. Thank god it was so well organized. I couldn't have done it with their old school type shit. Even so, oh my back and shoulders ache from construction work.
So are you going to buy a Lego A-Wing set and crash it into the control tower?
That was the Executor
Which was a Star Destroyer right, just a big ol' one.
well yeah, it was a super star destroyer
I mean you'd know this if you just took the time to read one of the several book-length articles on wikipedia
I tried to read one on lightsabers once, but apparently people developed at-length articles about how the fuck they work, and combat styles, and aaaaaaargh.

I'm still trying to find an inexpensively-priced copy of it somewhere. Once I do, though, I'll let you know how building it goes.

An A-wing crashed into the control tower of a Star-Destroyer, causing it to fly unguided into a super-star destroyer.
I'm pretty sure that's how it went down.

It is breathtaking.
