Re-calibrating Surround Sound Speakers

I've got a 5 piece logitech speaker set, and a couple days ago my surround sound got messed up. I'm thinking it happened when I tried to play Doom1 on Steam but I'm not 100% positive that was the problem.

The issue is that my front-left speaker is acting as dominant speaker. The other 3 are working at a reduced volume, and the sub doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. The bass is just coming through the left speaker.

I've tried opening the sound configuration on my control panel and clicking "restore defaults" but that hasn't helped the surround sound. I ran a simple diagnostics program and a woman's voice says "left side" and then "right side." Both phrases come out of the front left speaker when I click test.

The other speakers are working but only at a fraction of the volume on the front left. When I play music I can hear sound out of all 4 but not very loudly. And like I say, the sub isn't doing anything. The system is trying to play bass out of the speakers.

What do I need to do to get the whole system functional again?

first check all of the wires going in and out of the sub/speakers for anything loose or not all the way plugged in.

second. turn off the speakers (all the way from the outlet, not just the power button) and your computer. wait a minute and power back on.

I remember when I used Winamp, if the balance was ever off, it did it for my entire OS. So, barring driver issues, check your media players to make sure they're not messing it up.
