Well, title says it all.
I just finished watching the video for "Dance Dance" and it left a huge fucking grin on my face. Yes, it's over-produced and manufactured, but it made me smile.
I'm kinda tired of having to hide my musical tastes because of what the elitists think.
Yes, it's throwaway pop, yes it's dumb, but that's what makes it FUN!
And I think that's what the anti-pop lobby seems to forget about music: Music can be FUN, sometimes, you know. Yes, introspective, moving music has it's place, but you can't DANCE to that stuff, and most of it is next to impossible to sing along to, and, in the end, shouldn't that be what music is about? Accessibility and joy?
So if liking something that's catchy, silly and doesn't take itself too seriously is a crime against music or something, well then, I guess I should be locked up.
Anywhoo, to make this a help/advice OP, I ask: am I alone here? Obviously someone else likes these kinds of bands since they're (I assume) selling albums, and I don't think it's only prepubescent girls that are into it either.
So what's the word, H/A? Should I be dragged out into the street and shot for daring to like something other than Radiohead?
Have at thee!

This is a D&D topic, maybe "what's so bad about popular music".
But yes, I'd go with dragged/shot just for good measure.
This is a D&D or SE thread if you care to have it there. I'll even move it for you if you really don't want to copy and paste.
CUZ THERE'S SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE AND IT'S GIVING ME A RASH
