We've been through about six antennas (indoor and outdoor) and about as many spots in the backyard for one of those antennas but we think we've finally found a spot that provides the receiver with a solid, stable signal. However, it seems that the receiver doesn't know what to do with the signal after a few days 'cause I have to rescan for the channels. It finds them almost everytime I've had to do it so I know it's not the signals themselves. The only variable that hasn't changed has been the receiver itself. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have a thought as to how to fix it? Thanks.

Case in point, I rescanned the channels so Thursday night stuff would record. I left the DVR on instead of turning it off while I played 360. When I checked to see if stuff recorded before calling it a night, the receiver had lost the signal. When I rescanned, it found a strong signal right away. What the F?

Antenna? I have directtv and hd dvr 250gb i think. I have never had to have an antenna for anything. I get my locals just fine. The only time I've ever had to have it scan anything is if I unplugged the receiver and it lost all connection. It dvrs everything and I stream the dvr through my network pcs using thier software.
