[Let's Play] Grand Theft Auto IV - How Drive Car Good? (Parts 61/62 - Finished 9/08)
That ghost world was wild. Cool as hell though, and interesting to watch you drive around in.
The combusting pedestrians are always hilarious, too. I used to reason it out that the only time I saw it, it was when the engine of the car or rear tires of the car started flaming up, but then I tapped a car with mine once and the guy ran out, screaming and burning. I just don't even have any idea because of that. Funny as hell, though.
This is mostly a guess but I believe the intention to randomly flaming pedestrians in cars is because they're supposed to have dropped their cigarette when you bumped them. Obviously it's ridiculous cause unless their clothes are soaked in kerosene as I mentioned, that probably wouldn't happen.
Running around a car while on fire likely wouldn't make it explode either, but I think he got too close to the gas tank. Realistically he was nowhere near the gas tank, but in the world of GTA it was close enough.
i think the car was actually burning in this LP part. might just be me, but it looked to me like the pedestrian caught fire on the car's tire or its burning engine.
still, not even spontaneously combusting people can beat the guy from part something-less-than-ten or so. you know, the one that fell out of the blue and dropped right in front of your feet
edit:
i wonder:
you english-speaking people usually use either american or british english, depending on where you were born / raised.
do you find it strange if someone whose mother tongue ISN'T english mixes AE and BE in his sentences? you know, would it be weird if i write sentences like "he thought that the food's colour was strange, but he giggled and liked its flavor anyway" or so...

Not me, but then again, I was raised in Austin, TX and every third person I met wasn't a native English speaker.

It really only matters when written. When spoken, the two are indistinguishable. And the only people who'd be bothered by it are the type of people who'd be bothered by anything.
Recording didn't happen yesterday so next video probably won't be up till next week sometime. Sorry for the delay. I might make a quick highlight video or two of some of the postgame stuff I did, but it would be without commentary.
hmm... you know, i would love to be one of the commentators for this LP (at least for a part or so), but i haven't tried that ever before so i don't know about the quality of my comments...
if it's okay with you, maybe you could record a few minutes of random game play and we could try it out some day? wouldn't be too bad to have a third person for that as well...
so, long story short: i'd like to be in this LP, but if it's possible i'd like to try it out before

My mother tongue is English but I do that sometimes; I grew up in countries all over which used either. Spell check helps out a lot with standardising that stuff.
The "s" vs. "z" kind of thing trips me up a lot (like in that last sentence); I can generally remember to stick "u"s where they belong, but I keep typing words with "z"s.
Oh, and when I moved back here to Singapore (which mainly uses BE) from the US I kept wondering what the difference between aluminium and aluminum was until I saw a periodic table.
So here are just a couple of clips from the post-endgame videos that I doubt we'll make it to. I didn't even include any missions (which were just assassin missions anyway) because without commentary they're boring as hell to watch. Essentially it's just a couple things I felt might be amusing on their own. Nothing spectacular though.

There is little as funny as Niko when he's drunk. Although I like how some of the collateral damage in the part where you pulled out the bazooka killed a pigeon.
I expected you to go back at shoot the tip jar guy at the tw@. It's what I would do everytime. Instead, you went outside to see a car explode and a man light on fire.

That Viddler link doesn't work for me at all, but the Blip.TV one did, so I went with that. Hilarious video. When Niko just goes "AUUUUUUUUURRRRRRGH" to call a taxi, I lose it every goddamn time. It never stops being funny.
Edit: Also, Wtf happened with that Jacob Hang-out?
Whoops, I uploaded it to the wrong account. Yeah uh, just use blip for now. I suggest everyone do that anyway as the quality is always a bit better and, with how viddler has been acting lately, likely faster too. However I am uploading it to viddler again so the link should work eventually.
What happened there was apparently they don't take kindly to people jumping up onto the stage with strippers. So they "asked me to leave" which really meant "tried to beat the shit out of me."
The most amusing part of that whole ordeal doesn't really make it into the video and it's the fact that I got positive reputation for Jacob and a text of him thinking I didn't meet back up with him because I got lucky with a girl. Sure Jacob, let's go with that.
ah, great

Maybe it's because I see it sparingly, as opposed to ten hours in a row, but I actually enjoy the view when you take a window washer lift from a tall building down to the ground.

Oooh, Klyka, missed an excellent opportunity, and you were so close. Given the character's history and so forth, you should have said something like, "Perhaps her religion forbids her from handling balls?" Still, you made up for it with your reason for Badman not using guns.
Also, that was an awesome hit at the end of the vid. If only all missions could end as anti-anti-climactic as that.
Yeah, I know the body's probably still around at the end of the video seeing as GTA's engine doesn't quite go for outright dismemberment or obliteration other then headshots but it's still quite a sight.
Yeah it's a bit disappointing they took out dismemberment since I believe since Vice City you could shoot limbs off of people. I guess it would have been difficult to do with these models, or they felt it would be too grisly with the more realistic setting.
In case you're wondering and you don't read the LP Index thread, we're on hiatus! Fear not, it isn't dead. Gonna aim to be back in a couple weeks, assuming everyone doesn't forget!

Bernie's my favorite character in GTA IV.
I love the way he jogs in the cutscene.

Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
Just wondering if you guys were ever coming back to this. I really enjoyed this LP and its MST3K-like style.
