Fast way for using certain characters in Open Office? (SOLVED)

I'm using Oo.org to write something in the field of electronics, and it's really quite annoying to have to copy & paste greek letters like Ω,π,β every time I use them. Is there some way to make this more painless, like an addon?

    Okay, I used auto-replace to replace %beta% with β, and so on. Could've thought about this earlier.
