Office 2007 Pro Key for $15 on Ebay? Legit?

Just like the title says basically. I see keys for office pro '07 for $15 on ebay, and I don't understand how they could be legit. I also see windows 7 ultimate keys for 15-20$, and that also doesn't make any sense. How on earth can these be legit? I'd love to have a legit office key, but I don't want to get scammed either.

I pinky swear that we will not screw you.

I honestly have no idea about the state of Windows 7 piracy but the proportion of fake merchandise on eBay is massive. Is the seller listed as foreign?

See, that's what gets me. Pretty much all of them are from the U.S., and a number of them have a decent amount of feedback (+50 or more, 100% positive). It just doesn't add up.

Edit: For example, this guy has more than 500 feedback with 98% positive.

If you buy a product key off Ebay, you'll be getting scammed.

As they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Too good to be true. Of course people are going to leave positive feedback, because they generally will actually work.. at the time of sale.

Usually they are key-gen'd serials or keys bought from regions where MS is selling them dirt cheap so that they have parity with the local economy.

If, for example, they were bought somewhere like you mention, wouldn't they be legit at that point, or do you think they just sell the same one to as many people as possible?

And no, I'm not going to buy one, I just want to understand how they sell them so cheap.

They might be ligit from their origin, but it would still violate the EULA when you install it. Products given as charitable installs require that you actually be the charity that they intend. Would you spend the next 20 years in jail for it? No. Would it still be considered piracy? Probably.

They sell you either a bunk code or a stolen code.

This is something I hadn't thought of. Selling something given to your charity? Seems wrong.

    http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3692.m38.l1313&_nkw=feedback&_sacat=See-All-Categories

    plus sockpuppet accounts.

other than that, they are selling things like oem or student copies, or greymarket (if you are lucky). keygen'd serials if you are not.

Man, ebay is DIRTY. I just found this gem, where you're literally buying feedback. Yikes.

    Edit: Sockpuppet account?

Yeah. Student copies of this software can usually be attained for cheap and sold 2nd party under dubious legal cover.

I once bought 7 copies of Windows XP for 20 dollars from my school.

Yeah, consider it's likely a college student (if not a scammer) selling his college key. We got them free.
