At first I thought this cover was really bad until it clicked what the three bullet holes are supposed to be, and now I think it's kinda cool. It's the first Splinter Cell game I've been really interested in (as a Metal Gear fanboy), so that probably explains why I didn't "get it" instantly.
I swear I won't ever be able to play this game because the logo just makes me completely angry, especially since I'm a graphic designer. It's just such a bad idea on so many levels....
I really liked it, could you explain why it's so bad from a graphical design standpoint?

Also, that Squishy Tank cover is amazin'
The whole design tends to bulls-eye your focus to the "of." If you were to close your eyes and then open and look at the logo I'd be willing to guess most people would shoot straight for the middle piece, and while I suppose it's kind of daring to have the emphasis be on the word "of," I really don't think it works. It especially doesn't work because they're oriented to say FO instead. So basically when you first see it your brain goes: "FO... End FO eternity... FO?" and then you get stuck there on that FO section. Other than that, it's just kind of generic, and you can tell they probably picked the font because it's close to the Final Fantasy font.
Thankfully for them the guy who designed the box (may not be the same guy, but I dunno) seemed to realize this and placed the logo so that "eternity" is way out in the open whitespace to counterbalance the huge magnet in the middle. It works for the box I guess, but I still don't like the logo itself outside of the box.
The boxart itself is much better than the US one, which is just generic picture of gun toting main characters with the logo slapped on top with no thought at all.
To be fair to the JP box, it wasn't designed with people that can read english in mind. They probably just think the english letters look cool. I doubt too many japanese people that buy the game will notice that whole "FO" problem. It's still dumb though. Just tilting the letters to the right instead of the left would probably fix it completely.

Yeah, I'm sure that's why it ended up that way. Even flipped the other way, though, it'd still be a gigantic anchor at the word "of," which is completely weird to me.

I love the JP cover, since it pretty much screams epic quest.

Looking from bottom to top, it looks great until you hit Conviciton. Just stands out as an afterthought
Are all Japanese DS game cases that thin? The ones we have here in Europe are thicker and transparent. I did see an American DS case at some point and it looked much like the one in the picture, so I guess Europe that have different cases.
The JPN cases are similar to the US/NA cases, yes.

PS3
DS
(Yggdrasil Labyrinth[Etrian Odyssey] 3)
360
UK/PAL
There's some here I haven't even seen US art for yet. A taste of things to come?
3D Dot Game Heroes is a budget-type game from From Software (they did Demon's Souls most recently). Unrelated to Badman. I'm really excited for it, it looks to be a lot of fun.
I feel like the Bad Company 2 art would be significantly improved without that stupid "Defining Online Warfare" bit.
EDIT: And the nametags over people. What the fuck?
Man, that Shiren 3 box art is fantastic. I keep having to tell myself that I won't like the game, but that box art..dammit. It still laugh at how bad the box art for the Shiren DS is for the US compared to the amazing Japanese one.

Yup, we have unique DS game cases in Europe for some reason. Both US and JP have the thinner black boxes rather than the thicker clear plastic we have.

The reason is the thicker instruction booklets, because of the French, Italians, etc.'s unwillingness to learn goddamn English.

Unless it's one of those clear plastic covers and the tin underneath is is just the bullet holes.

EDIT: I love the Japanese Uncharted 2 boxart. It looks like to be straight out of some bootleg cult classic video.
Is this related at all to the Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! games?
Fuck, they stole my game name idea!
I like that Prinny 2 art.
edit: also, US region Persona 3 Portable boxart:
EDIT: And the nametags over people. What the fuck?
You could always print out a picture and place it over the original slick.
I have to say, that Just Cause 2 art looks pretty great. The Singstar one on the other hand...
Meh, it's alright, better than the US version at least. But PAL version is the best.

I like it.
Although I guess I mostly see the other games in the series IN bargain bins, but still.
Why is Konami's name on the Japanese version of the box?
And Bahamut: Konami's helping THQ distribute the game in Japan.
Goddamn you japan, always getting the nice stuff.
Also, is that Sakura wars PS2 cover for real? It looks as someone rendered a line sketch with dried up markers.
What happened to the white boxes with stylised art on it?
The FFXIII box is wonderful, my favorite cover in a long time
God of War III's box is cool but it ends the tradition of Kratos with his back to the camera and looking at something ominously

First black Wii box. I think only this and NSMBW (red) are non-white.
They're probably the ones publishing the game in Japan.
