Batch downloading images from a URL

I am trying to download: http://magiccards.info/scans/en/zen/1.jpg and then 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4, 5, ... and I was wondering what for of automated options are available.

Most sets of cards are at least 150 count, with some going as high as 450. Now I do not plan on printing out every card there is, or anything like that. I am an avid magic player, but I am a financially poor magic player. Not having the money, but having the desire to compete can cause conflicts.

I hope to print up enough cards to test play certain decks, pursue the decks that perform well, tweak them, and eventually buy the cards to make those decks, and support wizards products.

Is there a verb or some tech vocab that explains what I want to do? (if so I can continue this search on my own)

Does anyone else have experiences doing something similar and have suggestions?

Another friend of mine thinks that once I get the images, he can get photoshop to auto-stitch them together into a 3x3 layout, then we can convert them to pdf for easy printing, if anyone has thoughts on that.

Search for "web image stripper" or "bulk image downloader".

Probably want to be sure the images are allowed (from the copyright) to be be d/l and printed first, though.

I really can't imagine this is actually legal at all.

Use Firefox, use DownLoadThemAll! add the urls as a bacth download.

    Should be something like:

    http://magiccards.info/scans/en/zen/[1:450].jpg

To download from 1.jpg to 450.jpg

It's a really powerful download manager, I recommend it highly for windows machines. wget on linux is the best thing though.

I think Apotheosis is referring to this:

    http://www.downthemall.net/

It's a firefox extension for stripping images off of a page.

"Batch downloading" is a good start. DtA! should be more than sufficient. Set it to only download one at a time, via one connection each, unless you want to annoy the webmaster.

A long time ago I'd have used wget and a batch file.

Once you have the images... photoshop and PDF conversion seems like too much work, since as far as I can recall, Windows from XP onwards all have photo-printing wizards that'll automatically compile images into 9/16 a page. A bit short on options, though, I guess.

Remember to print a few in black and white first to see how it comes out.

Wow, you have all been of wonderful help. Yeah, now I am looking into those photo stitching options. I think it is going to fight me on the automation.
