Seeing this much rain here is weird
I've only see the aftermath and their effects (hail, lightning). One time we had one land close enough for me to feel the wind, but I never saw it.
Oh, and I saw one in Toronto this last summer, too.

Mann... same here (well, same destination city, but not departing from SD). I'm really hoping for decent/safe driving conditions tonight. Sigalert doesn't show any bad accidents for now at least.
do you guys use http://www.video.dot.ca.gov/?
Really all we ever get are flood warnings.
Just pm me, since everybody I know down there is evacuating and either here or on their way...
//kitchen girl can feel dozens at a time
///and would rather feed mostly hungry than starving.
.... /////// fark
we're supposed to get heavy showers this morning, but looking outside I just don't see it.
Seriously, though, I'm just hoping/praying all of the CA parforumersts are okay.
We got 2100 dollars
I was pretty proud
The "I can't get anywhere outside of rush hour" folk that we know are ditching up to our place, but they're also very midwestern bred and don't want to deal with the SW folk freaking out about unusual whether.
they may be freaks, but CNN is pretending like southern CA has never seen a real tornado, and they are preparing for full weather bullshit.
PS: We are full of food for anybody who comes this way.
Today might even be worse, this next storm is super fast moving and San Diego may experience its lowest barometer reading ever. So basically they're forecasting every crazy weather phenomenon you can think of. Twisters, thunderstorms, and even....graupels. Yeah, look that shit up.
Foothill regions, due to all the mud and sliding.
I know, I had the same initial thought as you. A tanned Californian in a hawaiian shirt and board shorts with permanent sunglasses, running from their homes because of the wetness. "The sunshine is melting!"
s'been raining so damn hard
They're saying gusts will be 75mph in the afternoon. Going outside in a few minutes to bring lawn furniture in.
i haven't seen any lightning in the past couple of days, where's he going to school at?
also, this storm can eat my boardshorts, i still jumped in the ocean yesterday.
it ain't that bad
I heard the ocean's really warm it's just not possible to surf because of the storm winds and stuff.
ack
Mud slides kill.
is anybody else here fucking cold? My socks are wet
my butt kills, you don't see people running away from that, do you?
Well
a few people
And what's with the Torrance hate from a bunch of pages back? Man city is alright, I mean minus the flooding and the PD.
first time since i lived in the midwest that i have had to pull over on the side of the road (last night) because of rain so thick that i couldnt see to drive, everyone stopped, it was strange.
a wooden fence separating my parents nieghbors property from ours is down, flattened
palm tree in the front yard is down
as of this morning, there are still hail pellets in the back yard, last night there was one or two ping pong ball size ones, pretty much all the delicate plants are destroyed
at my place there is a tree where my parking spot should be its a tiny just planted tree, but still.
is fiz alive? he was on the road last night too at a very bad time
its been 12+ hours, so get ready for mudslides in la jolla and the new developments out east.
MINE TOO! Waiting for the bus in the rain is pretty much the Worst Experience
vomit isn't widely accepted as a cover letter, tube
The worst thing we have to worry about is 115 degree heat.
What's your experience I'm pretty good at making it sound appealing.
also : what is the job?
Yeah man. People don't realize that driving into flood water, even if it's not terribly deep, is an awful idea.
God..I can't even count the number of idjits that tried to drive through our flooded st. last night. 2 cars didn't make it and stalled, a guy in a jeep got a little brave and tried it, but he quickly gave up and instead went through people's yards. Look people, if the water is over the curbs and several feet up onto adjacent lawns, you're piece of crap accord is NOT going to make it through.
Also, they're evacuating people because all the fires from the last few years burned off all the vegetation on the mountainsides, so like others have said, mud slides become a huge liability.
