iJetPack.
Tell me you wouldn't buy one.
I don't give a shit what it is, but don't just walk off of the goddamn stage Jobs.
I will be there live, and I mean - when they intro'd the shuffle, I fucking went out and got one. A SHUFFLE. IT DIDNT HAVE A SCREEN.
I'm quoted in Wired Magazine talking about "Steve Jobs' reality distortion field"
heh.
As for what I want to hear about..
iTv with a hard drive and Tivo like abilities and iTunes store intergration. That would totally kick ass
Imagine subscribing to select TV shows you KNOW you watch.
For me:
Seinfeld, South Park, Las Vegas, Nip/Tuck, Dirt, Family Guy....
And having your iTV fetch these for you. No cable bill, no stupid shit.
I'd love that.
Unpossible!
As much as most people disagree, I say they're going to reveal a new Mac system. One that's geared toward normal computing and gaming in mind, with either OSX or Windows. Apple has been jumping over hoops to make their machines Windows compatible lately, why wouldn't they do this? It only helps them.
Macbook
Macbook Pro
Mac Pro
Notice what's missing?
I'd like to watch... or read... whatever.
9AM Pacific ST.
Your best bet is probably www.macrumorslive.com
3DS Friend Code: 0404-6826-4588 PM if you add.
I know they'd never do it, and I know the reasons why, but I'd still love for them to launch OSX for PCs.
WTF are you smoking? The iMac is fantastic value.
Feasible?
It really does need an update. I've been waiting for the longest time for the fabled Mac Mini AV - essentially a Mac Media Center device. I'd love to see them offer one with integrated iTV.
But, yeah, Core 2 is probably feasible. Heat isn't really a concern, because I don't think it runs any warmer than a Core. So, if the price is right, it might get the processor update.
We had that. It was called the G4 Cube. You didn't buy enough of them. Now it doesn't exist anymore. It was fucking sweet.
I think some kind of iPhone announcement is a lock. I'll eat my pants if it doesn't happen.
Warning: By "my pants" I mean "delicious steak."
Uh, it was grossly overpriced compared to the more powerful PowerMac being offered at the time. It was just a really, really bad deal and everyone knew it.
Me too, just because I want a phone that doesn't suck a dick and that can work with my Mac. Though, CES did ease the pain a bit. Apple has to deliver a phone announcement of some kind, or it will face a MASSIVE internet backlash.
Sweet. According to that that Mac update/life cycle site, the mini is late.
Should they announce something topical, I'll be prepared to chuck my PC out the window and run to my local mac store pronto.
iMacs are the exact specs of what I what. Except without the screen. And real upgradeable video card. And not SO-DIMM RAM. (Expensive ) And multiple SATA points.
Mac Pro is too expensive with 2 dual-core Xeons and ECC Crazy Expensive Buffered RAM.
Actually I'd kill for an "Apple Motherboard". It could be $400 and I'd still buy one. (For $400, it better damn well come with OS X for free :P)
I'd appreciate this.
Or, a Mac Mini with discrete video. I know, dream on.
Ah, the legendary xMac.
I swear, Jobs must hold this shit back just to sadistically watch us pine endlessly for it.
Well, there was that. But it was a "prosumer" machine. And I wish it hadn't died, because I agree that there is a gap between iMac and MacPro that isn't being filled.
Saw this link on Drudge the other day:
That shift may well be underscored on Tuesday when Steven Jobs, the chief executive of Apple Computer, is expected to unveil an Apple phone representing his company's new mobile communications strategy — highlighted by a device that may include Jobs-inspired refinements like a sleek ceramic case and a transparent touch screen.
Industry executives and competitors say that Apple has developed the first of the next generation of devices that are closer to personal computers in pocket form, meaning that they will easily handle music, entertainment, productivity tasks and communications on cellular and other wireless networks.
It definitely piqued my interest.
Just the option for discrete video, while difficult to fit in that awesome form factor, would please me.
I'm ignorant, but do Mac Pros have expansion PCI Express slots? Or is a proprietary hardware connection?
Hahaha. PCIe. Macs haven't had proprietary hardware connections for a decade or so. The Mac Pro would be a great game machine if it weren't for the workstation processor and the workstation memory. All they need to do is offer a version with a more gaming-friendly configuration and a $1,000 cheaper price, and they'll sell tons to the PC/Mac/Linux tri-boot hypernerd crowd.
Second, I know that if they announce something awesome it's available immediately on their website, but how long does it take to trickle down to say my local Circuit City?
That's not true. You just need one with Mac drivers. Nvidia and ATI both have lists of cards with Mac support.
Awesome. At that rate, a "barebones" option would be great. BYOGCAR.
Bring your own graphics card and ram, please.
