I just saw some band play for 30 minutes at my school lunch. The first 15 was post-rock doodling with the lead singer reading Snape excerpts from Potter Puppet Pals in the voice of the school dean, the second half was a detuned slap bass solo
so on friday i saw my friend's sister's band, rubblebucket, at the highline ballroom
which was pretty cool, they were headlining, and there were a good amount of people there, and i was like oh man i know these people that is cool.
their band is kind of weird and whacky, but they were a lot of fun

Rubblebucket is big up in burlington, vt. Them and Lotus. The past couple of years Lotus have come to this area each school semester to play a friday-saturday double show, you're practically required to have at least a working familiarity with the band.
People gotta have their grateful dead/Phish jam band crap up here. That said ive seen both rubblebucket and lotus, and enjoy them to an extent.

Yeah they go to higher ground, where I havent been in over a year actually. George Clinton and Pfunk (Feb, 09 i think) were the last show I saw there. I always hear good things about monkey house but have never gone there yet, I should try to see a show at some point. Preferably when I'm not drowning in my senior papers and projects.
One of which I'm working on right now! Not going to my 8:30 class tomorrow.

My favourite performance was probably Rhinestone Eyes because of the accompanying visuals, but 100% of the rest was absolutely fantastic as well.
