Hey folks,
I'm working on a project and I'm hoping someone here can provide some insight so I don't make an unneeded mistake. I'm currently working on completely remodeling the upstairs bedroom. I finished making a new vanity, and the fiance repainted the room.
Just a few minutes ago, I finished sanding all the residual glue that was left from pulling up the laminate sheet that used to be there. My problem is that there's a few spots where I'd like to use a leveling compound to even the plywood subfloor.
I went to HD on my way home from work and purchased LevelQuik RS to use as the leveling compound. Will this do the job as long as I apply a latex primer to the plywood subfloor? The sections I need to level aren't large (the largest being about 1 square foot where the plywood panels come together between joists.
After leveling, I was going to apply a full coat of latex primer to the entire floor, followed by using a new groutable vinyl tile that's been recently introduced to the market. The tile sheets themselves are fairly thick (~2.5mm) compared to regular vinyl tile, and I was going to subsequently grout it with silicon based grout.
Is there any problems with the above, or will it work fine?
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

With vinyl, especially vinyl that thick, you won't need to get too precise on the levelling. You won't notice a few 1-2 mm dips in the floor. Are you using an adhesive compound for the vinyl?
I'd also work with the grout and figure out how quickly it sets, how much of a mess it makes and how easily it cleans off. I suspect with the silicone, once it sets, it's going to stick pretty good to the tile surface.
