So I’ve been debating making a media pc setup and it just dawned on me that I can use my current desktop instead of a whole new pc, since I rarely use both at the same time anyway.
The only issue is, my PC is at the other end of the room from my TV and any cable going from PC to TV would have to be a good 20 or 30 feet. Unfortunately I know almost nothing about cables (HDMI or otherwise) and whether I need to be careful when trying to find one this long. Do I run the risk of really bad signal quality past some length, or is there some particularly reliable brand I should look for? I know most people just say go with the cheapest price because they all give roughly the same quality, but a quick confirmation from someone more knowledgeable about this would be fantastic.
Thanks!

Buy them from monoprice.com. You can get 25 feet for $22. A 3 foot cable would cost you that much at Best Buy or any other big box store, and the quality is no different.
As far as maximum length, I don't think you have to worry until you get up to 45' or higher.
