A few years ago I heard an interview on the radio with a comedian who told a side splittingly hysterical story about how he went to Russia in college on some big class trip, made friends with some Mobsters by accidental introducing him as The Machine, and later wound up partying with corrupt cops in some random ass town.

Google has only shown me someone else asking the same question. Any ideas?

It's not Tony Hawks by any chance is it? Story sounds familiar, though I'm not sure if it was Russia or some other East Europe country.

That's the one I was thinking of, although now I'm awake and reading the OP it wasn't a class trip. Other than that it's ringing bells though.

I think Henry Rollins had a similar story. My memory is pretty vague about the specific content, however.
