Yep you heard me. I hate you all. Every single one of you fuckers. And this is why.

I'll make a list.

1) Shadow of the Collossus. You made me buy this, and make it my most favourite game ever. Everything else pales in comparison. Thanks for ruining Zelda.

2) The DS Lite. I had no interest in hand-held gaming, after picking up a cheap Gameboy Colour on ebay i thought i was set for life. Thanks for making me spend money i didn't really have. And don't get me started on games; advance wars, trauma centre (which is like rape, only i keep going back for more), mario kart, the list goes on.

3) Switching to Apple. You utter bastards were the straw that broke the camel's back. After being tempted for a little while i decided to take the plunge a few months ago. My see my macbook more than my girlfriend. Curse you Mac thread.

4) All the games i've been forced to buy. Did i need timespliters:fp? No. Did i buy it? Yes. And it's all your collective faults. The list goes on. The entire silent hill series too. Owning a ps2 for years and never went near them. First topic here about the silent hill movie and i dusted off SH1, before buying the rest. Fucks.

The list goes on and on. Thank you G&T for making my life so much poorer, though slightly happier.

Anyone else been conned into buying excellent games, systems or other technology from this god forsaken hell hole?

The two worst forum influenced purchases I have made are a PSP and X3: The Reunion. X3 probably wasn't bad, but I couldn't get into it just for the shear fact that I would have to teach myself to play.

The DS. I bought it based soley on lurking the DS thread. I have now decided that if it keeps up and the rate it's going it will be my all-time favorite console ever. I can't ever recall enjoying a purchase like I've enjoyed my DS.

I made a couple of forum pressured decisions early in my G and T days. I grabbed Advance Wars after much raving. It turns out strategy games aren't my cup of tea. It was a very good game in a genre I just don't enjoy. Since then, though, I make my own decisions.

Of course, if there is a game I already want, these forums usually make me want it more than I already do.

This forum has pretty much become my primary source of gaming news. Honestly, if I read an article on IGN, eToy or whatever gaming website is out there, its probably because someone here linked to it. And usually, there's no reason to even follow the link because the OP included all the important info.

However, I can only think of a few games that would have flown under my radar had it not been for PA.

Before PA, when I saw games like those on the shelf at the game store, I'd ask the clerk about it, who would be clueless (because its not made by EA), then I would make a mental note to look up the game later, and ultimately forget. Even if I remembered to look at a review, I would be hesitant to actually buy it because reviews are not to be trusted, and these oddball games aren't on the shelf at Blockbuster/Hollyood Video.

But then I come into G&T and see the dedicated splooge threads for these games and I felt a lot more confident buying games I never played myself.

Now I just use Gamefly to avoid the poor selection of B&M video stores, but G&T is a pretty big influence on what goes on my rental list.
