Question about Viewtiful Joe 2

I've been going through my backlog of games, and I've been thinking of going through VJ2 next. However, its been a long time since I played the original. My question is regarding the difficulty modes. Is Kids' Mode like easy easy? Or is it the equivalent of a "Normal" mode?
