Is it a crazy idea to go to Coacella by myself? I'm an australian exchange student studying in the Bay Area this semester, and I really, really want to go... but don't know anyone else who does. The Coacella boards look like they have a fairly thriving carpool/tent buddy thing going on, has anyone had experience using those? I'm fairly comfortable hanging out at the actual festival by myself, I'm just not sure about how I'll get there/where I'll stay... I'd love to camp, but I don't want to buy myself a whole camping spot and have no tent and nobody to camp with.
It seems like you could find people who live near you who are going. Try and hook up with them and maybe make new local friends while your at it?

Dude theres gotta be some people at your school going. Do you have a school radio station? Maybe you might want to volunteer there/try and meet some people going. Im sure someone else at the station (if you ahve one) is.

The trouble with finding people who are going at my school is that I go to a very small private art school, and there just... aren't many people. I've only been here for a few weeks though, and there's plenty of time yet...
The best solution is to forget Cochella and come to Bonnaroo.
this is wrong!
Coachella is during my finals week, but if I can get my professors who are having a final to let me take it early, which is pretty probable, then I'm really going to try to go.

Bonnaroo is cheaper, usualy has amazing lineups with something for everyone, an amazing vibe with the friendliest people (seriously, the generosity on display is always the best part), has great workshops and activities (All free btw) and on top of that, it's in the middle of tennesee instead of being in the middle of a desert.
The west coast has much over on the east coast, but Bonnaroo is a fetival that is second to none (speaking as a five year veteren here).
If you have any other festie questions i'll be glad to answer them. Like I said, I'm a five year veteren of bonnaroo so I'd be more then happy to share any knowlege i have.

Muse AND Orbital, two of my favorite bands, are playing at Coachella.
So that's why I really want to do this.

I'm considering doing this as well
