Hi. I just managed to break the front-left cusp off of my second molar on the upper left side of my mouth. (Use a tooth chart if you need help.) It doesn't hurt. This is a tooth that's already had a big filling in it, so breaking isn't that surprising actually.
So what I need help with is this: How can I find a dentist who will work for Medicaid in Benton, Franklin, or Walla Walla counties (I live in Benton City) in Washington State.
The federal and state Medicaid sites are pretty useless for finding the info I need.
Awesome. I didn't find anything this useful in my googling. I called the office listed in Ellensburg there and they directed me to a closer, unlisted clinic, and my appointment is in 50 minutes.
Yeah I'm pleased that I was able to get the service I needed so quickly, but the metaphorical price was pretty high.
I'm on Medicaid because of a slew of mental health disorders that I won't enumerate and the only types of places that are willing to bill the program have names that include Catholic saints or have the word 'community' in them. In this case, it was a place called Community Health Center La Clinica.
If you've ever been to traffic court or a social security office that's what this place was like. Full of angry or injured people that mostly don't speak your language. Seriously crammed full of people in every available seat and most of the standing room. The lamentations of the women were almost overpowering to me because I suffer from major panic anxiety and agoraphobia.
The manner of the dental staff was as you'd expect if all you knew about clinics was what you've seen on TV. Frustrated, understaffed, overbooked, exhausted people trying to do their best with their limited resources. This, alongside outdated and cramped exam rooms lent to an almost mercenary or vigilante feel to the care doled out.
In short it was an effective, brutal, harrowing, and badly needed service that I received today. Now I just have to deal with the aggravation of the mental issues, but that can be done alone.

Hi there, glad everything worked out, but please don't bitch. You were able to get same day care for a non-emergent dental issue at little out of pocket cost.
According to my W2 I paid $1400 for medical/dental coverage in 2009 and when similar shit happened to me I wasn't able to get an appointment for a week.
Count your blessings and don't complain about having to wait in a line.

Unfortunately, that list will probably be out of date. Still though, it's worth a try.

Please no.
But on topic, that's great you got it fixed so quickly! Grats.
