Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems.
BattleBlock Theater is our upcoming third title for the Xbox Live Arcade. Website to follow in the next few days and as we inch closer to the release of the title we’ll be unfolding more of the story online.
Enjoy.

I mean, the trailer has some sweet epic orchestration, and I love me some Castle Crashers, but....ummm....this appears to be a free to play flash co-op platformer. Is there anything interesting about, I dunno, the play mechanics or something? Tell me there is something to this game other than "Lets Be The Guy" game made by semi-famous indie developer Behemoth.
Tell me about the trailer, man! DUDE. MAN.
I was talking to the guy asking for details of the gameplay, but what I saw was the best kind of animation making everything about the game seem awesome though it may not be and I will still think it is awesome because of said animation.
As for the gameplay, it seems to be much more platforming that Castle Crashers was. I can't really explain much more. You should just watch it instead of being dumb and at work/school/prison/wherever you are that you can't watch it
Yes. It was a trailer for a game. And it looked average. I'm confused.
I mean, yes, I know they are a good developer. But I don't see anything to write home for in that trailer. Maybe I missed all the amazing sweet parts that everyone else saw.
Sorry I'll stop fouling up your "We Love Behemoth" thread with my lack of gushing optimism.
2D animation looks great with the framerates / resolutions we can achieve these days. More devs should take advantage of it.
I'll probably set the video to load up while I do something later tonight. Knowing the animation itself is key gets me interested.
That, and I absolutely adore the animation, so this will be a day one purchase for me.

Yes. And sorry, it wasn't a critique against free flash games. I love them and they are 90% of what I play on my PC. What I as trying to say was it looks like N+ or Jumper, but with a lot less jumping mechanics. Thus I would rather not spend money on it, but again it was a trailer and thats why I asked if anyone knew anything interesting about the gameplay other than what they showed, because it didn't grab my attention.
Edit: However if the game had a sweet composed score (like the trailer), I'd totally buy it. The only reason I enjoyed Modern War 2's single player was because of Hanns Zimmer. I'd love it if some platformers took a cue from that and tried being more epic in their scores.
I am one of the few persons who did not like Alien Hominid HD because I felt the controls had that little annoying "flash-game" feel to it.
Castle Crashers, however, was pretty awesome.
I'm assuming the devs are gaining more experience at making console games with each one they make, and that this game's platforming and battling mechanics will be up to par. The Behemoth's style of animation is pretty damn cool, too, and I have a 1400 points card lying around that I had no use for.
Now I know what I'm getting Day 1.
Looks pretty much like an evolution of "Game #3" to me, actually.

Anyway, looks fun.
That game turned me into a big 'ol newgrounds whore, constantly trolling for great tracks. Usually my search ends in failure, but I keep coming back hoping something awesome will pop up.
Dude sounds like he's baked.
Sorry that I had the audacity to ask if anyone knew anything about the game other than what was included in the trailer. I didn't know we weren't supposed to talk about videogames in the videogames thread.
Some kind of gladiatorial contest. Captured slaves are forced to battle each other for the amusement of a bunch of spectators. Fight in an arena to collect little bars of gold, avoiding traps while trying to push enemies into them.
I would imagine the "story" ends up being your character trying to beat everyone else and secure your freedom. They mention the guy running the theater is crazy, perhaps you have to work your way up to defeating him.
Once again, it's pretty much The Prisoner meets Death Race meets Castle Crashers meets The Running Man.
Have you seen The Running Man? That's pretty much the theatre aspect of it.
