So I want to get into eBooks, but I am scared of them because of rumors of DRM and an unclear future as to how I will experience them.
As it is I simply want to try out reading a few things on my laptop and iPhone and see how the consumption format treats me, but I don't know from where I should get them or in what format I should aim for. I don't want to be tied to any one specific device, or DRM'd into a corner by them.
I'm in Australia, so, where does one buy eBooks from and what's a format I should aim for?
