The entirely speculative concept of WiiHD has showed up in a few threads already, but I wonder if any of the rumours hold water. Whilst an entirely new console from Nintendo is a bit early to consider just yet, it is likely that we could see a HD upgrade of their current successful console in order to maintain momentum in an increasingly high-definition marketplace.

Reaction to the Wii has been generally positive, but the current line-up of titles have struggled to win critics over in terms of graphical output. Whilst not necessarily Wii2, nor in the league of the X360 or PS3 super-consoles, a high-definition version of the Wii is expected by some to appear in the not-too-distant future.

An article on a fancy blog with no factual basis or even basic fact-checking is probably one of those things.
