I think whenever I sit down to make the file I want to take to the third game, my choices will be colored by the desire to keep as many random NPCs alive as possible.

I did find it amusing that in ME the krogan cutscene death goes to great lengths to underscore how hard they are to kill with multiple shots, gurgling, etc. And then in the cutscenes now a stiff breeze knocks them over.

Alternatively, the first Krogan was one bad bastard.

Has anyone figured out the dev console for ME2? I'm going on my 3rd run through and I kinda want to just max paragon/renegade and play without worrying if I have enough to pass certain events.

I thought that was a bug or something the first time I saw him speak. Every time I go into a no-atmosphere mission, I try to take Grunt just to see that.

Have you ever performed the renegade action (not selecting a paragon or renegade dialogue option) after opening Grunt's tube? Dude gets an entire clip pumped into him by Jack "Shepard" Bauer and just sorta shrugs it off. Hopefully I can find it on youtube...

No. No I have not. I've never even seen an option to do so, and I'm on my third playthrough.

EDIT: Grunt is always one of my first recruitments, so I probably haven't had high enough renegade bars to prompt a RT interrupt.

As far as I know there's not a working console yet, but there are ways to edit the Coalesced.ini file to do this. Just google the name of the file and you should find all sorts of stuff.

To obtain all the upgrades as a non-engineer (Engineer passive ability lowers
required research material amounts), you will require:

    EEZO: 42,500
    Iridium: 215,000
Platinum: 275,000 (Includes 50,000 for Med Bay upgrade.)
    Palladium: 195,000

Finished my second run through the game yesterday, and I've got to agree about shockwave being insanely useful against groups in small spaces.

    My endgame:
    Vents: Legion
    Second Team's Leader: Garrus
    Crew Escort: Grunt
    Shield: Samara
My Team 1: Miranda & Thane
My Team 2: Miranda & Thane
My Team 3: Legion (with Widowmaker) & Thane

All were loyal, and all survived.
On top of that, I've found a good use for charge after all this time: getting to the vent controls really fast in the collector base.
And I've got to say, I really want to make a papercraft Normandy SR-2 now.

I just got past Horizon and soldier's starting to grow on me.

Having lots of guns seems to make a lot of parts of the game I struggled with before much easier. Barriers are a bit annoying, but they still go down fairly fast.

I still miss being able to fling enemies around willy nilly.

If one keeps in mind the term 'mortal coil', then you can see it's more of a play on Second Life. (Semi-free MMOish pc 'game', if you didn't know.)

Here's a question while I'm thinking about it, and it may have been answered before, but I'd like to be sure [end game]:
if you have 2 loyalty quests left, like Tali and Legion, and you go pick up the IFF, can both missions be done without losing any of the crew on the collector base?

I've got a question about the ending:
So, I've heard a lot of people saying that they got Miranda to quit Cerberus in the aftermath of the suicide mission. Which sounds cool, but I've never been able to get this to happen in either of my playthroughs. Can someone explain what you have to do to get her to quit? It seems like the best ending.

I just had her in my team during the last battle. She's the one that brings up the message from the Illusive Man, and when you disobey him, Illusive Man will order her to stop you. Which she won't.

What I want to know is if she still quits if she isn't loyal to you, but is there at the last battle.

I wish more of the loyalty missions were like Zaeed's.
Punching him in the face, doing the exact opposite of what he wants, and then shoving a gun in his face and he turns loyal?

Why can't I be that abusive to my crew all the time? Why can't I be that abusive while being paragon with literally everyone in the game?

I was almost totally paragon in ME1, but never have I had so much fun in a game picking this route. By the end I was abot 95% paragon and close to 50% renegade. Bioware did it right with so many of the renegade choices this time around. Less baby eating and more Jack Bauer is awesome imo.
