Chicken

Howdy, I accidently left some cooked chicken out over night, un covered. It also happens to be the only food in my house, and I'm sick and broke.

If I cook this at like, 400 degrees in an Oven will I be okay?

    I'd say you're probably okay.
Being a college student I've seen people, almost daily, eat far far worse.

I am not a doctor etc etc whatever.

Edit: I wasn't even talking about cooking it again. But if that's the case maybe cut it up and put it in some pasta sauce or something. Make it into some soup maybe? I would imagine re-cooking would dry it out a good bit.

    Honestly?
    Honestly..?
    Honestly?

You're probably fine to scarf that sucker right down.

if it was already cooked fully.. Personally I'd be game.

I've eaten hot wings that have been floating around in my kitchen overnight it didn't do me any harm. I suppose as long as you know it was thoroughly cooked it probably won't kill you to try. Of course, if it smells odd or off that's always a good enough hint to avoid.

    Already cooked = no problem.

May not taste so great, though.

You don't need to burn it o_O

But yea, just heat it thoroughly and you'll be fine.

I'll second putting it in something: pasta, a salad, a casserole, etc.

Haha, You're good. When I was dorming at college and flat broke I did something similar and didn't die (or y'know...get sick at all). If it's fully cooked, you should be fine.

I've eaten stuff that's been sitting outside before.
I was incredibly incredibly drunk at the time, but hey.

If you're worried just microwave it for a minute or two to reheat/kill anything that possibly moved in overnight.

Having had to sit through courses in food safety, that shit is now crawling with bacteria and is anything but good to eat.

Still, you aren't going to die from eating it.

Edit: "It's fully cooked" only means you've killed off the salmonella in it. Other bacteria has still grown and multiplied in the lovely, warm cooked flesh of that chicken.

    Toss it in the microwave.

Granted I've eaten pizza that wasn't refridgerated two days after the fact.

You shouldn't die, if thats what you're asking.

You really should have cooled it and refridgerated it as quickly as possible. The longer it was warm for the more bacteria will have grow in it. If you live in a warm climate I wouldn't touch it. If it gets pretty cold at night in you kitchen, it's borderline - ie don't blame me if it makes you sick. Cook it so it is pipping hot right through to kill anything that has grown in it during the night and check you have plenty of loo roll just in case.

No one is too broke to afford Ramen noodles. They are like 50c a piece, it's awesome.
I always keep a case around, you never know!

    50?!

    They're 17 cents each where I shop.

Well either way, they are affordable even by bums. Come to think of it, do bums eat a lot of ramen? I mean... seems like a logical choice. Though there is a disturbing lack of alcohol in ramen.
