something to, and then up to me as they do not ship to Canada.
-this is a fairly expensive single item. We're talking $700US
-I cannot even put it on my CC (being a Canadian resident). I would have to pay you back by money order or Paypal (which I have fully operational and can send payments of that size anytime)
-you would need to be able to forward the package up to me in canada through USPS or UPS, hopefully in a timely manner after recieving it yourself.
I dont know if there is anyone here willing to do that for me, I know some of you are capable....
We could possibly work out some form of extra reimbursement if deemed necessary - the actual work is minimal, its mostly in the "risk" of fronting that money.
I should note I've done many many similiar transactions with US forumers here, I have a number of names that could vouch for me. One time it was a pair of shoes over $100 each
anyone with serious considerations PM me, otherwise people can post general questions here, or I might get some past forumers ive dealt with to post here to vouch for me
Since this is in H/A i will pretend not to be 100% suspicious of fraud for the following:
I advise you to contact one of the people with whom you have done business before. It is unwise to entrust $700 worth of merch to anyone you know solely through the internet without first exchanging a binding contract.
Theungry on
Unfortunately, western cultures frown upon arranged marriages, so the vast majority of people have to take risks in order to get into relationships.
I've done this in the past with Amazon.com, they won't ship certain things over the border.
My concern is why you need the US resident to pay for it. I've always paid for my stuff up front with a Canadian credit card. They just care about the shipping address, not who's paying for it.
You might want to throw in some sort of offer to the person who is going to be doing this "leap frog" with you. It might bring in more offers.
Everywhereasign on
"What are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman!"
Be aware that Customs may hold it until you pay GST on it.
And when you ship from canada to the US you sometimes need a commercial invoice sheet (provided by the shipper) which declares the origin and value of the products crossing the border. I don't know if this applies to shipping stuff from US to Canada as well but I assume it would.

Duty if at all, is collected upon delivery (at my door)
Declaration sheet is a small sticker filled out by the lucky forumer at the post office when they're sending it to me. Probably the most challenging part of the process for them/apart from getting there.
Everywhereasign - this isnt a big e-tailer like amazon that had seemingly random policies (no videogame shipping to Canada), its just another case of not bothering to include Canada in where they are willing to ship their product. I can try emailing them tomorrow for a special request, but its quite (unfortunately) common.
I tried putting in a US address and seeing if I could use my own address for the payment one, but the form automatically converts whatever i type in back to Alaska... it just doesnt allow for non-US addresses.
Have you tried contacting the company directly? Chances are they might be able to work something out as you're dropping a potential $700+. Some places might go out of their way for figures like that.
Similarly, if you found someone to do such an arrangement, would you send the money up front and then have the person order it? Or, even better, have you place the order but ship to a US address (the person receiving it), so you'd only have to give the US person the shipping charge.

That sounds more like the site is spotting your IP address and deciding where you live.
Someone with more internets skill can tell you how to pretend you are from somewhere else.

I would probably send money up front if there isnt any way to charge it directly to me in the first place

Exactly
It's a set of perfume, and its only available to a few places in Europe and the US, but not Canada (typical)
So I'm only shipping it to a US address because that's all they offer.
Then the recipient is forwarding it up to me in Canada. No law breaking or customs skirting or anything like that
