PAX East networking

Wassup. Any gaming community leaders want to meet up for some networking and introduction? Figured it would be a great opportunity to meet up with some of you guys and gals while out here in Boston.

That means if you run a popular blog, youtube channel, podcast, show, forum, gaming site, or anything where it's not just your mom posting comments, we should meet up.

A bit about me: I host a show on Justin.tv which ties into our GameOn community forums and I'm also the community manager for the very awesome OMGPOP.com. It would be cool to meet up with other folks who are involved in managing and growing gaming communities.

Whose down?

NOTE: While this is networking, I don't want this to be too business-y, were here to have fun and hang out, so please, no sales pitches and what not. My goal is to get to know some other folks who lead and manage gaming communities.

RejectedGamer.com will be at PAX East in full force. Two of my writers and myself will be attending. I'm totally down for meeting up with other community leaders to hang out and have some fun.

Uberleak.com will be out with one of the biggest staffs around I think. We're still in the midst of getting content together for launch (having issues scoring some review copies so I'm scraping together cash to buy a bunch of the games to get going), but should be running by the time PAX hits. Our core contingent will contain an editor, cameraman, audio person, cue card/teleprompter intern, and a note taker. On Saturday, we'll be swelling to 7 people as there will also be a potential intern there, along with my father who wants to learn more about the indusry.

Would love to meet up at one of the industry parties that are almost certain to happen and talk about the industry, and share our experiences since we've joined. It would be very interesting.

We of Silver Hound Productions will be at PAX East. We've attended the last 2 PAX Primes in full force and will have a contingent at PAX. I can certainly see the benefits of networking with other independent media whilst there. Let us know where and when it's o take place and I'll do my best to come along.

A few H3ITWP people will be going to PAX-E. That number will probably double if Bungie decides on going to PAX-E.

We are still playing around with the idea of running a HCE LAN if people show enough interest.

Hi everyone! Jerry here with DDOcast.com. I'm extremely excited to be going to PAX East, in fact, my first PAX after years of attending GenCon (which I will be attending again this year.)

DDOcast is a podcast about the MMO Dungeons and Dragons Online, published by Turbine. Since Turbine's going to be there, so will its biggest fan-created podcast!

Really looking forward to it and would love to hang out with other podcasters.

The promo street team for MAGFest, Music And Gaming Festival, will be there in full force.

We're basically an annual video game music party down in the washington DC area.

The team of The Comedic Void should be here for this as well. Recently started, but we should have the ball rolling by PAX.

Mainly a blog, but we organize local LAN parties as well.

Is there someone working on a time/place?

Well... my wife writes for Massively, and she and I tinker with our own podcast. I'd love to network.
Maybe the podcasters could all exchange voice work for each other!

I'd actually like to connect with anyone looking for any writing that needs to be done. I wrote previously (as in a few years back) for two smaller websites, and stopped to focus on another career/have a baby. My wife did the latter bit.

Either way, an informal chat with like-minded people would be GREAT. Granted I'm not what the OP lays out, but hey, I fish for opportunities where I can. I can do filler reviews, blogs, daily updates, etc. Thanks for your time!

Three of us "videographers" for the Unofficial PAX Community DVD will be there getting all the big stuff on film, doing interviews, etc. I think it would be cool to meet up with you all at some point before or after PAX. There's isn't much time for us before PAX, but afterward on Sunday evening would be good.

Any ideas as to what, when, or where?

I'm still scouting out good food places nearby that serve drinks, but I'll find somewhere near the CC for us to get together.

There's nothing saying you aren't welcome. In fact, we can try and make it the semi-official hub for networking after the last moments of the show if that is something everyone else is cool with. So long as the food is good, I don't care where we eat XD

PAX closes at 7 on Sunday. Meet at the Cactus Club at 7:30? This should give everyone time to hit their hotel, drop off swag and calm down a little after all the excitement.

Apparently I'm going to be a representative for machinima.com :S

Got it hooked up for a forum I do the art for. A few of us are attending and one of the admins is a machinima director and is in the talks with them to get us to be their representatives.

the forum is forums.zantive.net by the way.

I fear this will be happening to a lot of people, so to schedule it for Sunday evening will have most running off 10 minutes after it starts! I'm actually not leaving Boston until Monday evening, so Sunday is fine for me. I just fear I'll be in the minority.

    New to the forum here.

I would love to meet more fellow gamers and people passionate about gaming (and the industry) in general.

Ideally I'd love to end up having a career working in the industry with sales and/or marketing, as that's what I've been working as a career and went to school for.
