I might just be super dumb about PMs..

why do some stick in the "outbox" for long periods of time?

is there somethign I should be doing?

I have ones from days upon days ago that never went out. Sometimes I'm trying to contact a mod about something time-important, and i have to just watch it sit there...

Can someone just explain to me how it all works, and why I still have pm's stuck in my outbox?

    The outbox stores the PMs you've sent that haven't been read by the recipient. Once read, they're moved to the sentbox. I've no idea how to move stuff to the savebox though.

    so its misleading??

    as in, they ARE getting them... but they'll stay there until they're read?

    Correct

    Anything in the outbox with a pink icon has not been read by the person you sent it to

    Yup. And saving is simple too. Just check the box next to the pm(s) you want to save and scroll to the bottom and click (save marked)

    It's not actually "until they are read" it's until the person views their inbox.

    What if I have a problem getting PMs from other people. I believe there was a few sent to me that never made it. I had contacted the person who sent them and he assured me that he did send me a PM. They never got to me though.

    Are they lost somewhere on the web?

    Well, if he deleted them from his outbox before you read them(which is why they'd be in the outbox), they don't get sent to the person.
