Networking for Child's Play at PAX

I'm super excited for PAX East! Prior to this only video game convention I've had the opportunity to attend was the ill fated E For All Expo the one year that E3 didn't take place. At least with PAX I'm fairly sure that my presence won't doom the event from the start.

Anyway, some of you might have heard of an event my friends and I have put on for the past couple of years called the Mario Marathon (mariomarathon.com) we've raised something like $44,000 for Child's Play and are listed as Platinum Sponsors on the CP web site.

I'm hoping to use PAX as a place to network to build support for the event. Perhaps score some swag for prizes, get some autographed stuff to give away, just generally make connections to make this year bigger than last.

Anyone have any experience with this type of networking at PAX? What are the chances we will be able to get an autograph from Mike and/or Jerry? Do the game companies send any recognizable faces to PAX?

Thanks for any advice,

Brian "Shirt Guy" Brinegar

If you can't tell who I am...this is Rider.

I'd really like to meet and shake your hand for all this Child's Play work you guys have done.

One thing that Penny-Arcade tries to do is keep childs play separate from PAX, You can try but I dont know how successful you will be.

You can probably hand out some business cards to interested parties and there is certainly a signing by G&T available.

As far as companies sending recognizable faces well i personally don't know devs faces from the next. In other words from what i recall i see devs but not usually the pr face.

On that note i guarantee several recognizable people will be there but i would adhere to don't bother them if they look busy and don't hound them rule. Like Bigred said a business card to hand them would be good.
