Modern Zelda like 2d game?

I'm looking for a Zelda like 2d game for the PC. Hopefully something done recently. I like the top down, 2d "hack and slash" play (ie. you swing the sword and shield block in real time, unlike Final Fantasy's turn based system).

    Cave Story is more side scroll platformer than top down but has that old NES/SNES feel to it and is actually a very excellent game

    Not hack and slash really either, but a really fun, simple top down shooter is crimson land. I played the demo for hours every day back in high school. Good memories.

    Diablo games are closish and a good time if you haven't yet. Diablo II is an all time favorite and I enjoyed Torchlight which game out really recently. It's the exact same as Diablo II just with some more vibrant graphics and a slightly more streamlined playing style.

    The first one is free and all the others are $20 or under so a decent bang for your buck

    Check out a game called Graal. It is in fact a 2D zelda for the PC.

    I had posted a link to it but not sure what happened. piece of shit
