I've been looking for a laptop for school, and it'd be nice if it could run games decently.
I'm not looking for any kind of power house, just something that would run TF2 (and the like) smoothly.
Would you guys please give me some suggestions? I'd really appreciate the advice. Thanks!

What budget are we talking here? Are you looking for a laptop for use in class as well as on your desk at homer/in your dorm? That would make weight more of a factor. Aside from gaming, what else will you be doing with the laptop? Are you a graphic design major, who might be running something like Photoshop? Engineering major looking to do CAD?

Yeah, I should of mentioned my budget is 1,000 right now.
I'm a Psych major, so all I'll really need it for is word processing.
Size isn't the biggest issue, I am thinking around 13'' for the screen thought.

In that case, my suggestion is to find a manufacturer you like. Toshiba is a good choice. I've had good experiences with my Dell laptop, but others might disagree. Basically find a company you like and compare what you can get for around 1000 dollars. You should look for something with discrete graphics (not integrated, even a less impressive discrete card will serve you better than the terrible integrated graphics) and 4 GB of RAM.
It's been a long time since I bought my laptop, so I don't know as much as others might, but hopefully that helps.
If you search for reviews you will see that it has been very well received. It has lots of pluses for school; 10hrs battery life, thin and light. It will also handle games decently with the Nvidia GeForce G210M as well.
Thanks for all the suggestions everybody. I looked at the Asus UL80, and after looking around, settled on the Asus UL50. Hopefully NVidia G210M will be good enough for my gaming needs. Notebookcheck.com seems to think it will.

Best bet for a solid combination of features.
