Vista 64 Wireless Issues

So, I'm sure some of you have heard of this problem before, or had it, but the wireless network I use doesn't work on my PC. I can fix almost anything, but computers are beyond me most of the time. I can access everything perfectly fine from my MacBook, great connection, everything, but the PC is unable to connect to the internet. The PC recognizes the network, hell the router is about 20 feet away and I always have Good-Excellent Signal Quality. But for some reason the network is always limited to 'local only'. Occasionally I can get internet connection, but it works for a minute then quits, and this is once a week at most.

I don't own the router, my neighbors let me use their internet for $5 a month, and up until this point they haven't let me mess with the router settings to get my PC to connect. So, is there anything I can do to get this thing online?

This happens to me a couple times a week. For me, usually power cycling the router and modem works. It being your neighbors interwebs, that isn't really an option... Hopefully someone else knows another option? I'd like to find some way to stop the madness on my end too.

I've connected to two or three other wireless networks when I bring my PC home, and there are no problems. Everything is set to auto detect the IP and DNS.

You might try borrowing a wireless dongle USB thingy and seeing if that can pick up your network, sometimes your network card and network don't like talking to each other. Mine don't, and need to be refreshed about 10 times before they will connect. After that however, it works perfectly.
