Republic Commando + Windows 7

HorseshoeHorseshoe Registered User regular
Hey folks,

One of my favorite games, Star Wars: Republic Commando, will simply not run on my new windows 7 machine.

I'm not much of a computer guy, and I simply don't know what to do.

RC is aged enough that it seems Lucasarts isn't releasing patches for it any more (as far as I can tell, I could be wrong).

Any advice, help, or answers would be appreciated!

The last time I ran Republic Commando, it was on Win7 x64 RC, and Iran through the game fine.

There was an issue that might still be relevant where you had to set bumpmapping down in order for the game to work properly with newer GPUs, but again, I was able to set everything high and didn't have a problem (I believe it was a driver issue that was since fixed).

It's an issue with ATI cards running certain driver versions. Disabling bump mapping in the settings ought to fix it, though.
