Yo!

So my lady and I are thinking about buying an Xbox 360 to get some coop action going as we have tapped out most of our game options on the PC.

I like pretty much any RPG/Action adventure. She is really picky, and tends to like games such as Diablo 2, Titan Quest, or Sacred 2. She also loved Oblivion. Definitely a fantasy fan vs sci fi.

The one idea I have at this time is Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. Seems like a decent hack n slash-type rpg. I could really use some more ideas, though!

I've heard that the first MUA is a better game, but I haven't played any of them.

the best co-op I've played was Earth Defense Force. Scifi, but in a cheesy, fun 50s kind of way.

    I'm seconding Castle Crashers.

I'd also recommend Lego Star Wars (The Complete Saga) - that can be a very satisfying co-op experience.

If you're willing to try out some shooters Resident Evil 5 and Gears of War are pretty fun.

    Borderlands.

It's an FPS/RPG hybrid, if she's into Diablo she *should* be able to pick it up easily, but it is of course a Sci-Fi game.

Borderlands is kind of boring, and its really easy to accidentally end up playing... basically two player solo games.
Its not worth a purchase, id rent it though..

Earth Defense Force Is HILARIOUS co-op, if you like cheesy sci fi or making fun of hilariously bad old movies or the like
    you will love it
    its also genuinely fun

resident evil 5, the Gears games are both awesome, good linear co-op, lots of teamwork involved.
Castle Crashers is probably the cheapest fun co-op you'll find. Me and my friends loved it.
    Great music, too.
i cant think of many 360 co op games that are fantasy.

Ok seriously, I was interested in this thread for my bf and myself....was checking out the EDF game until it said something about SPACE SPIDERS.... WTF? Can't anyone make a decent game these days that DOES NOT include creepy fking spiders? Grrrr....

Anyways.... being helpful, castle crashers is fun, another recommend for that one.

    Yeah....no.

I had to quit my mage on Dragon Age b/c I was stuck in a fking cave with spiders....the first time one dropped on my head I squealed like a girl and shut down my PC....by unplugging it....because I couldn't look at the screen. Fuck spiders.

Any non spider infested game is OK in my book.

God do I feel your pain. My wife loves rpgs, loves fantasy, loves MMOs ... hates spiders! Games have to be spider free or I have to already know where they all are so we can avoid them. (In DA:O they are all predictable ... there is only a single random encounter with them.) So... we don't get to play much together, esp. MMOs :(

Hah. I take it you don't really pay attention to av/sigs, eh?

Anywho. MUA2 is fun, but the first was better. If you haven't played it, pick up 1 on the cheap and go from there. Plus both Marvel games are going to fit into her style of play much better than most console games. Outside of that I really don't know. I play co-op a lot, but over Live and it's usually shooters.

I would just add to be careful and research a game before buying it. A lot of the times a game will say 2 players but that may mean two TVs with two Xboxes and two Live Gold accounts.

Earth Defense Force was one of my least favorite games ever. If your gf digs Diablo/Titan Quest/Oblivion's loot system, she really might enjoy Borderlands. Borderlands was Diablo with guns. Edit: Which... I guess you already own.

Castle Crashers is an absolute must.

You need to read the back of the game carefully. The green text denotes offline play, while the orange means online.

For example, you might pick up this game and think, "Cool, two player co op!" No, that's orange, so it's two player co op online.
