Problems with PuTTY and SSH

I'm supposed to submit my homework for class as a plain text file from my Windows machine to the computer lab's Linux machines. However, I'm not entirely sure how to get my file through using PuTTY. I was able to borrow my friend's Mac last time an assignment was due and the process was relatively painless, but this time I really need to make my computer and their computers play nice.

Any one have any experience in such matters?

It is your duty as a filmgoer to see Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.
