I am using Windows 7 and am connected to the internet through broadband through a switch connected to a wall network outlet.
I was screwing around with my connection and did not realize that disabling my network with an Internet connection would permanently remove it. When I try to make a new network the computer finds nothing to connect to. I would really appreciate any help!
I'm rusty when it comes to using Windows' command line, but I know you can check to see if the connection is still around like this:
Windows key + R (to bring up the run box)
cmd
netsh
interface
show interface
This will at least tell you whether or not it's gone, and save whoever posts next some time so they can tell you (and remind me) how to enable a connection through the command line.
It did indeed seem like it still existed. With some moral support over the phone and a lot of random exploration of the control panel I did somehow manage to reactivate my network. Thanks for trying to help!
