W810i w/ 2gb stick wont hold music

So I have a Sony Ericsson W810i that has a 2gb pro duo card in it. I have been trying to put about 1.8gbs of music on it which takes a bit over 2 hours but thats another story. After all said music is put on I dissconnect it and try it out.
Every time I try to use the walkman mode only a few of the songs are actually stored on there. Even when I go into manual mode instead of using the provided Sony program it still deletes most of my songs and acts like they didn't even exist. Another problem is while scrolling around the music it will tottaly freeze up if a certain songs are picked.
Can anyone give me any advice on how to fix it?

I know a few MP3 players that wouldn't play WMA.
Maybe a licensing issue?
