Windows XP Service Pack 2 Problems

Okay, so today I bought a Zune, and when I got home and stuck the install cd, it told me that it required windows to be fully updated. That's something I haven't done in forever, and finally, after downloading tons of updats, I only have the service pack 2 left.

That's where my problem starts. It just won't download. I go through the whole download process, and the bar fills up all the way. But afterwards, nothing. It doesn't begin installing, it just stays there at the end.

Anyone have any tips? Or maybe somewhere else I could download the pack from?

Ill assume your running a valid copy of windows. If i remember correctly it should ask you to verify this or something.

It sounds like the install file is being corrupted or something? Does this make your whole computer hang? or just the instal program?

I believe theres ways to get SP2 on cd but you might have to call microsoft or something?

You can download SP2 as a stand-alone installer (without WGA validation) from Microsoft. You just need to look for the "installation package for professionals and developers."

    you can get it here.

Download and run like a normal installer. I use these all the time because Windows Update has never worked properly for me.
