Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
There seems to be a lack of tanks more than anything else 60-70 in my battlegroup. And half the ones that are available are silly goose DKs who can't hold aggro and then drop without warning half-way through what is already an incredibly painful Mana Tombs. If my Pally respecced Prot I'd probably have no trouble finding groups, but I just collected a dozen Holy pieces :-/

Shit, when I was leveling my DK, I think hit all of one instance once. Course, this was pre-dungeon finder.
edit: And I will admit, I was terrible even when I got to 80. Somehow, I totally missed that death grip would pull aggro off the tank.

On my blood elf mage I am getting some rather interesting warriors for tanking instances in outland
From around lvl 60-72ish my bf ret pally was getting stuck with DK tanks that didnt know goose dick about tanking. And healers were like rare drops of rain in an otherwise draught ridden land.
But I'm starting a rogue for the first time ever and am all sorts of excited/loathing myself since I may well become what I hate most with such a tempting gank monster at my command.
I figured we'd get it started on page 1. Just to get the ball rolling. Cosmetic cloaks is the most uninteresting feature since as a Draenei I have them permanently turned off. Damn you floating-above-my-tail cloaks. How about they implement that shit for the rest of the slots so I can use my awesome RP outfit everywhere without wasting bag space I don't have.
Oh who am I kidding now that LK is dead I only log on for 25mans and holiday achievements.

Yeah, PvP is fucking great. It's so balanced, and it definitely has a great place in WoW. It feels so integrated with the rest of the game, not like some games where it's just tacked on as an afterthought. I also like how they manage to keep the PvP and PvE aspects of balancing separate, it's all very well done in WoW.
Weirdest thing just happened. I was buying so much of this one guy's saronite ore that we struck a deal and now he's going to be supplying me with tons of the stuff for a discount every day.
What's the expertise cap?
There are actually two: The point at which you remove dodge from the mob's combat table, which we call the soft cap, and the point at which you remove parry from the mob's combat table, which we call the hard cap. The caps vary with the mob's level.
* For level 83 (raid bosses) the soft cap is 6.5% dodge or 26 expertise (214 rating), and the hard cap is 14% parry or 56 expertise (460 rating)
* For level 82 and below (heroic bosses and trash) the dodge and parry caps are the same. You won't need more than about 22 expertise.
That second bullet point is weird. First he's saying the caps are the same, then he's saying you need less expertise.
Is there a table with the dodge/parry chances by level like there is for miss? If so, does anyone have a link handy? I couldn't find anything on EJ/tankspot/wowwiki.

I need a bunch of primordial saronite, but apart from my alts' frost badges, I'm not going to pull the trigger on buying any until they drop to 1k or so. 12k+ for boots is just too pricey for my blood.

The cap for heroic bosses is 22 expertise, both for dodge and parry. Hence, they're the same. Also, 22 is less than 26/56 which you need for raid bosses.

Oh ok. I thought "the same" as in "the same as for level 83" and not as in "equal to each other". Strange that parry chance jumps so high while dodge doesn't, but I guess it's the same for spell hit/melee hit.

I'm leveling a Dk alt through Outland at the moment, and hitting LFD most of the time. But I like to think I know what I'm doing, as my groups don't die and normally near the end of the instance they say things like "Hey, would you like do another?" or "Please don't leave!" But then I've been tanking since the AQ gates opened so... that might have something to do with it.

I use PVP boots for this reason. Seriously, the ones you can buy for honor are very, VERY close to the stats on the crafted ones.
Speaking of which, I built a tank set so that I could do LFD faster, so that I could get a full set of Triumph PVP gear. That's kind of messed up. I want to BG for my PVP gear, because fuck the arena.
I posted this in the Warrior thread but seeing that not very many people frequent it, I'd like to get your guys take on my issue. Keep in mind I am a warrior:
I need some advice. I'm having trouble soloing Maister's Terrace on Heroic. I am using the bloodthirst solo spec. I can do just fine all the way up to the final boss, but he puts up a shield that absorbs 10k damage and starts casting a 40kish pyroblast. I've yet to be able to dps the shield down before he gets his cast off (it's a 4 second cast). I can survive it if I use last stand or shield wall but then I'm just overwhelmed with damage and I can't make it up with bloodthirst.
I was thinking there were a couple of options I have:
1. Wear dps gear. I don't know if this will do it for me because my problem is rage. I can't get any rage to dps the boss and I'm only doing like 1k to 1500 dps on him. Then I have the issue of saving rage for the shield so I can at least attempt to burn it down.
2. Respec into titan's grip then a few prot talents. I could see this working since his melee hits are garbage, and it's just the 5k fire blasts that add up. I've never dpsed as a warrior so I'm not sure if rage will be a problem like it is for me now. My other concern is if I can tank the first part of the instance without the deeper prot talents from the original solo spec.
If anyone has successfully soloed this and has some tips for me, I'd appreciate it.

It's easy. I've soloed it before. Here's what you have to do:

While I haven't done it as a warrior, I have done it as a paladin. My finding was:
1. Early on, prot didn't cut it because while I could bubble through the first pyro, there was always a second. Nowadays I could probably solo him in prot spec and gear, and maybe laugh off the pyro.
2. Ret I could burn through him fast, sometimes before the first pyro.
EDIT: In other words, the best defense against the pyro is to make sure he never gets to pop his shield.
Another two things you'll want to keep in mind:
1. How are you dealing with the phoenixes?
2. How are you going to handle the constant damage in phase 2?
When I did it on my death knight, I specced dps, blew all my cooldowns and burned him down to 50% before he could pyro. Then I burned him down as far as I could before the orbs got close, led them away and swam back to finish him off. This was in far worse DPS gear than I have now too (though I did have the benefit of AotD eating some damage at the start).
When I get my 2-pc tier 10, I'm going to whip up a hybrid DPS/tank set and try burn down MGT on heroic by Ret tanking. I'd try in full prot, but that'd take like 2 hours for me.

When I was soloing it until I got the mount/pet/orb, I was able to charge stun one of his fireball casts, then pull him to the left of his spawn into the corner there, then LoS Pyroblast by just running to the doorway.
How would you solo Magister's? is this normal or heroic? as a paladin
I have done it on my warlock but then it takes me forever and I have to swtich specs and get lucky on the pvp fight
The hardest fight is the 2nd one. That requires basically eating 3 of the sparks and keeping yourself alive with 30K heals. Ret paladins probably have it a bit easier because of their instant heals and no divine plea always up shenanigans.

Thank you sir! This was the kind of pro tip I was hoping to get. That beats gearing up for dps and just obliterating him before he casts it.

It's too easy to gear up.
The lore sucks.
PUGs are shitty.
All this and more on tired lines of discussion!

MMO-Champion has datamined cosmetic cloak stuff that, as you may have guessed, changes the look but not the actual gear of your cloak. Awesome!
