trying to remember the name of a game

It's an old Sega Master System game and it worked like this:

it was top down
you started out as a motorcycle
you somehow got an upgrade and turned into a car
you then got another upgrade at the end of some levels and turned into a plane
it was relatively difficult (I was 10 at the time or so)

so, any ideas?

and, if anyone wants to we can treat this as a "what the hell game was that?" thread.

    Was it Action Fighter? The motorcycle switches to a car at about 4:32. (Edit: Got the time wrong.)

    If that's not it, you can also ask in the G&T thread. It's been dead for a bit now but it solved every case for a fair while.
