Does this exist? Or anything similar? Basically, a way to have my computer play music in the morning to wake me up.

    If you have a a P.C.

Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks > Set an audio file and make sure your computer+speakers are on and at a good level.

If you have an apple mac, you should be able to find an AppleScript that automatically opens iTunes and starts playing a song when the computer starts up. THen you set the power management to turn on the computer at the required time and hey presto.

That is assuming that AppleScript is still supported in OSX. I used to do that in OS9.

Actually my friend got one of these (non-computer related) for Christmas. I know your post said you wanted your computer to play the music, but these are also pretty cool.

You plug your iPod into the top and it charges it overnight and uses the songs in the morning to wake you up (optional beeping available also).

    Here's a couple of choices:

I don't know which one my friend got, but he loves it, and he's not easy to please.

    it's 9.95 though.

I'm pretty sure you could just write / find an applescript that will play a random song in your iTunes library. Then just schedule it for the time you want to wake up using crontab.

Even easier - go into iCal and set up an event at the time you want to wake up, go into that events properties, and set up a sound file to play at the time you want
