Hey everyone,
Chris from BOSTON8BIT here, and I'm happy to share that our fifth blowout chiptune event will be a part of PAX East 2010: Chiptune 5! We've been fostering a scene in the city that been gaining momentum since last year, showcasing both local acts and some great talent from all over New England/NY/PA. We're so pumped to bring you two shows worth of good times on Saturday and Sunday, check out our Vimeo page for some example videos from our previous shows! Super special thanks to Penny Arcade!, Reed Expo and the MAGfest guys that are overseeing the Jamspace room, who were gracious enough to share their space in order to make this happen. :-)
When?
Chiptune 5 will be happening on Saturday 3/27 and Sunday 3/28 in the Jamspace. The official PAX schedule specifies that the 3/27 show will be from 10:30a-2:00p, and the 3/28 show will be 12:00-2:30p. Please be aware that these times will most likely change as we'd like to free up more time for JAMMIN IN THE JAMSPACE! The times will probably be adjusted to be earlier, and the first hour of Saturday will be a panel on chiptune/B8B/other fun things. You can e-mail chris@boston8bit.com if you'd like to be made aware of any changes, which I'll also post to this thread.

We're taking that same vibe from the outdoor chip concerts from PAX West (with Spamtron and crew) and turning it into a legit concert at PAX.

I used to work at an expo company, and any self-respecting convention is going to have physical schedules around. It's almost completely necessary for this one, judging by the # of panels and stuff that are taking place. However to be safe, I'd print a copy of the schedule grid on the PAX East site.

I hadn't mentioned this before baelion, but hot off the presses - Zen Albatross is going to be presenting an extensive... well, presentation on chiptune what/where/why/how during our panel at 10:30 Saturday morning. We'll follow it up with a general Q&A session, but you'll also be able to get ahold of some artists during/after the show if you want to talk to them directly. :-) Thanks for being so interested in this scene, it's actually the most excellent community I have ever been a part of!
