Just played a game and a period of OTP. I wanted to murder the guy on defense with me. He was always too close to me and it annoyed the shit out of me. We won 2-0. Following game, I am paired with the same fucker. That, along with everyone not hitting A, made me quit.
The not hitting A thing is the WORST. EA needs to have 'quickplay' rooms, where there are no replays of goals, highlights, penalties, offsides (ESPECIALLY fucking offsides, who wants to see that shit). Whistle blows, people do shit for a couple seconds after the whistle, then everyone is magically ready for another faceoff. That's it.
edit: I'm actually a genius, that is an incredible idea, and I am posting it on the EA forums so the idiots there can react to it.

Yes please. This league gave me my first opportunity to see the trades interface in online leagues, and my god is it junk. Would it have killed them to re-use the trade interfaces from season or GM modes?

It is, but we basically would have to draft offline and then everyone has to take a ton of time to do the trades in the game.

hell I remember the days where you could do trade searches in past NHL games. I have player X and I'm looking for Position Y in return, press search and see what offers come in. This "trading block" feature never works that nicely. It is always like well we know you have Player X on the block, but let's not do offers based on that player X and every incoming offer I get is for my best guy Player Z and a constant stream of me just rejecting offer after offer because they want Zach Parise for a back up goaltender or some shit.
I know there are sliders to show what positions you prefer in a trade, but damn if there were just a bit more ease in the process. I don't mind offers outside of my set parameters, but that should be the exception not the rule. offers outside my parameters always seem like it is 80% and then the rarity is a deal I actually have to sit and consider.
I'd also love to see some graphs or sliding scales. Like the highest paid and lowest paid player with 20 goals for 1 season is $$$ (assuming they all play the same # of games). That way you could have a visible scale to see player worth. Like you could have a Gaborik who has 20 goals, but only played 40 games for the entire season, but his worth per game is better than a Kotalik who produces 20 goals over 80 games.
They really spent a ton of time perfecting gameplay in initial phases, which is the right idea. now that gameplay only needs minor tweaks I really expect 2011 or 2012 to be so feature rich my head spins. I doubt they will do that though.

Call more roughing penalties after the whistle.
Actively penalize players that are OBVIOUSLY exploiting the game (top guy on the leaderboard has 11,000+ points in 1700 games).
